- Eligibility of Voters
- In accordance with the Three Parks Constitution, in order to vote to endorse candidates and for the Board and officers, you must be a member. New memberships do not become effective until one month after the first dues are paid. Dues paid by new members in the last three months of 2023 will be credited to 2024.
- To be eligible to vote, in addition to having your dues current, you must have attended, as a member, at least one monthly Club meeting in person or on Zoom any time between August 2023 and January 2024. The Eligible Voters List will be posted on the Club website prior to each meeting in accordance with the Club Constitution.
- The preferred method of paying dues is through PayPal.
- Balloting
- Members will vote by secret ballot.
- “No Endorsement” will always be an option on endorsement ballots. It is not applicable to the election of officers.
- A candidate must receive a majority of 50% plus one of the votes cast in order to win the Club’s endorsement. Should no candidate receive that number of votes, the candidate receiving the fewest votes and candidates receiving less than 15% of the ballots cast will be dropped from the ballot. Then a second vote will be taken. When balloting for Club officers fails to produce a majority, there will be a runoff between the two highest vote getters.
- Every effort will be made to accommodate members who cannot vote in person. If this applies to you, or anyone you know, please inform Theresa Canter . All eligibility requirements will apply.
- Candidates
- To be considered eligible to speak at a Three Parks endorsement meeting, a candidate must at least be registered with the NYC Campaign Finance Board or the NY State Board of Election. This does not apply to Party positions.
- Candidates may submit a one-page statement for the Club’s Endorsement webpage to Lorraine Zamora .
